Holiday Dog Boarding in Round Rock
Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, July 4th, when families travel, our kennels fill up fast. 24/7 on-site staff and live daytime webcams mean you can travel without the stress, knowing your dog is supervised around the clock and you can check in anytime.
Holiday boarding lead times
Boarding demand in Round Rock is wildly seasonal. Most weeks of the year, you can book a boarding stay 1–2 weeks ahead and have plenty of options. But certain weeks every year fill up months in advance:
- Thanksgiving week: Book by mid-September. Wednesday–Sunday is the peak.
- Christmas / New Year's week: Book by mid-October. The full week between the holidays is the peak.
- Spring break (March): Book by mid-January. Round Rock ISD's spring break drives the local demand spike.
- Memorial Day weekend: Book by mid-April.
- July 4th week: Book by mid-May. Even if July 4 falls midweek, the surrounding days fill.
- Labor Day weekend: Book by late July.
Why we don't just add capacity: we don't believe in stuffing more dogs into the building than we can responsibly care for. Our staff-to-dog ratios stay consistent year-round. The same supervision, the same play groups, the same care your dog gets in February is what they get on Christmas Eve. The only way to maintain that is to cap holiday capacity at a level we can actually deliver on, which means peak weeks sell out.
How to give yourself the best shot at holiday dates
- Become a regular client first. Existing daycare attendees and prior boarders get priority on holiday weeks. We prioritize dogs we know well because boarding works better when the dog is already comfortable in the building.
- Book as soon as you know your dates. If you know in October that you'll be flying out December 23, book in October. Don't wait for "closer to the date."
- Be flexible on drop-off and pick-up days. If you can drop off the Tuesday before Thanksgiving instead of Wednesday morning, you'll have more options. The day-before and day-after waves are tighter than the middle of the holiday stretch.
- Don't show up on day-of without booking. We hate turning people away at the door, but on Christmas Eve, we will be full. Plan ahead.
What's included with holiday boarding
Every day of holiday boarding includes the same daycare program, group play, and supervision as a regular boarding day. Your dog isn't sitting in their kennel because the staff is short-handed during the holidays, we staff up specifically to handle peak weeks at our normal care levels, including full overnight coverage every night of the holiday week.
- 24/7 on-site staff for the entirety of every holiday stay, overnight, weekends, holidays themselves.
- Live daytime webcams so you can check in on your dog from wherever you're traveling for the holidays.
- Full daytime daycare with their group, every day of the stay.
- Climate-controlled overnight kennels, important during Texas winter cold snaps and summer heat.
- Twice-daily feeding on the schedule you provide, using food you bring.
- Routine medication administration at no extra charge.
What to bring for a holiday boarding stay
Same as any boarding stay, keep it minimal:
- Your dog's regular food, measured and labeled. Bring extra in case of travel delays, better safe than rushing to find their brand of kibble at a 24-hour store on Christmas morning.
- All medications in their original containers with clear dosing instructions.
- One familiar item, a t-shirt or blanket from home.
- Current vaccine records if we don't have them on file.
- Emergency contact information for someone local who can reach you if needed.
Holiday hours and reduced-service days
We have modified hours on major holidays. As a general rule:
- Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, New Year's Day: Typically closed for drop-offs and pick-ups. Plan around those dates.
- July 4, Memorial Day, Labor Day: Reduced hours, usually similar to our Sunday schedule.
- Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve: Often a half-day with early closing.
We post specific holiday hours each year on the homepage and via email to existing clients. Confirm with us at booking when your drop-off and pick-up days are.

If your dog has never boarded with us
If you're a new client booking holiday boarding, please plan to do a free evaluation day and ideally a few daycare days before the boarding stay. First-time boarders do much better when they already know the building and the staff. Holiday boarding is the worst time to introduce your dog to a new place, too much going on, too many new dogs around, too much stress. Get the introduction done in advance. Book a free evaluation →
Frequently asked questions
How early should I book holiday boarding?
Thanksgiving and Christmas: 6–8 weeks ahead. Spring break, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day: 4–6 weeks ahead. The earlier the better, we don't add capacity beyond what's safe for the dogs, so peak weeks fill first.
Do you give priority to existing daycare clients?
Yes. Dogs we already know well, regular daycare attendees and prior boarders, get priority for holiday weeks. We do this because boarding works best for dogs who are already comfortable in our environment. New clients are welcome but should book the earliest possible dates.
Are holiday rates higher?
Yes. Holiday weeks carry premium pricing because demand is high and we keep capacity tight to maintain care quality. Specific rates vary by holiday, call or use the form for a quote on your dates.
Can I drop off or pick up on the holiday itself?
We have modified hours on most major holidays. Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, and New Year's Day we are typically closed for drop-offs and pick-ups. Plan to drop off the day before and pick up the day after. Our regular weekend hours apply on most other holiday-adjacent days.
Does my dog need a recent evaluation for holiday boarding?
Every dog needs to have completed our free evaluation day before any boarding stay. If your dog hasn't been to us in over a year, we may want to do a refresher daycare day before the boarding stay. This is especially important for first-time holiday boarders.
