Why we're different

We're an independent local business, and that changes everything.

Full-Day Play With Live Webcams Streaming

Many large facilities cycle dogs in and out of crates every 90 minutes. Our model is the opposite: 6+ hours of supervised off-leash play with one shared 12–2pm nap. Live webcams stream throughout play hours so you can watch your dog from anywhere. No mystery, no curated photo updates, just real-time footage of what your dog is actually doing all day.

Owned by a Person, Not a Private Equity Group

We've been independently owned and operated since 2006. There's no corporate office, no franchise fees, no quarterly KPI deck pulling decisions away from what's right for the dogs. When something needs fixing or improving, the person who owns the business is here to make the call. That's why your dog gets care, not customer-flow optimization.

Refundable Passes, Forever, No Tricks

Every daycare pass we sell is refundable for unused days, at any time. They never expire. There are no "maintenance fees." They are transferable to another dog or another client. Buy a 20-day pass, use one, decide two years later you want the rest refunded, we'll happily do it. If you pay for something, you're owed the value.

All dogs welcome

Every temperament, every size, evaluated individually

Our intake is built around your specific dog. We don't run a one-size-fits-all room. Here's how we think about the dogs we welcome:

Big Side · 40+ lbs

Large & High-Energy Dogs

Adolescent labs, shepherds, doodles, bullies, GSDs, the dogs who need to run hard and wrestle harder. Supervised, structured, and matched with similar play styles.

Small Side · Under 40 lbs

Small Dogs

A separate room and outdoor area for the small crew. Sized-appropriate playmates and quieter company for dogs who do better away from the rough-and-tumble.

6+ months · Neutered

Puppies

Once your puppy is past 6 months and neutered (a behavioral requirement, not a medical one), they're welcome to join. Early socialization in a safe, supervised group is one of the best gifts you can give a young dog.

Modified intro

Senior Dogs

Older dogs get a slower introduction, shorter play sessions, and quieter group placement on the small side when needed. Many seniors love it; some prefer to be home, we'll be honest with you either way.

Honest fit assessment

Reactive or Timid Dogs

Our environment is high-energy. If your dog finds it stressful after the evaluation period, we'll tell you and recommend alternatives, one-on-one walking, in-home boarding, or a quieter facility. We won't push a bad fit.

No breed bans

All Breeds

Pit bulls, GSDs, bullies, doodles, mixes, every breed is welcome here. We evaluate dogs as individuals, not by what's printed on their adoption paperwork. Always have, always will.

"We've been bringing Cooper here since 2019. He's now 8 and still loses his mind every Tuesday morning when he realizes where we're going. The staff knows him by name and we can actually watch him on the cameras at lunch. He comes home tired in the best way."

"Switched from one of the big chains after they raised their pricing twice in a year and stopped honoring my unused days. Bought a 20-pack here three years ago, used 14 of them, asked for a refund on the rest when we moved cities. Got it within a week, no questions asked. That's how a real local business should run."

"Boarded our two pitties over Christmas while we were in Colorado. The daytime webcam was a lifesaver, we could see them romping around with the crew. Knowing someone was on-site overnight made it actually possible to relax. They came home happier than they left."

Owner with daycare dogs at Dog Daycare Round Rock
Meet your local owner

Two decades of running the kind of dog daycare we'd want for our own dogs.

We've been doing dog daycare and overnight boarding on this same patch of Round Rock since 2006, long before there was a Dogtopia, PetSuites, or PetSmart Pet Hotel in town. We're a single-location, family-owned doggy daycare and dog boarding kennel, and we plan to stay that way.

If you've read our about page you already know we have strong feelings about the corporatization of pet care. We don't think your dog should be a billable unit on someone's quarterly deck. We think they should be played with, watched closely, fed when they're hungry, and sent home tired.

Our mission has been the same for 20 years: provide safe, transparent, and reliable care, and treat customers the way we'd want to be treated.

Questions we hear a lot

Frequently asked questions

What's the catch with the two free days of daycare?

There is no catch. Every new doggy client gets two free days of daycare for a single dog with no additional purchase required. We want you and your dog to be comfortable with us, and a risk-free trial is the best way to make sure we are the right fit.

Do you offer tours of the facility?

Yes. We offer tours during business hours, but it's best to contact us first since seeing strangers can be over-stimulating for the dogs. Tours of the play areas are kept brief, and we can rarely accommodate drop-in tours on Fridays and Saturdays.

Do you split up dogs by size?

Yes. We run a "small side" (typically dogs under 40 lbs, plus older or lower-energy dogs) and a "big side" (typically dogs over 40 lbs, often higher-energy adolescents). Crossover happens when a larger dog plays appropriately with smaller dogs, and vice versa. Larger dogs on the small side are vetted carefully.

Are daycare passes refundable? Do they expire?

All daycare passes are refundable for any unused days at any time. Passes never expire. They are transferable to another dog or another client. There are no maintenance fees of any kind. If you buy a 20-day pass, use one day, and want the other 19 refunded two years later, we'll do it.

Do you have breed restrictions?

No. We do not have breed restrictions. Every dog is evaluated as an individual on their evaluation day, regardless of breed.

Why do you require dogs to be spayed or neutered at six months?

Our requirement is purely behavioral, not medical. We're aware of the medical reasons your vet may recommend waiting longer for some breeds, and we respect that decision, but intact dogs over six months can change the dynamic of group play, which is why we set the policy where we do.

Do dogs ever fight at daycare?

Fights are rare but do happen, they are an unavoidable part of group dog environments. Our staff focuses on de-escalation and prevention. When something does happen, we separate the dogs immediately, place them in a time-out area, and check thoroughly for injuries. Dogs showing repeated aggressive behavior are asked not to return.

Do you offer early drop-off or late pick-up?

No. If your dog isn't picked up by the time we close, they will be fed and boarded overnight at the standard boarding rate. We do not offer drop-offs outside of regular business hours. Everyone's time is valuable, and we stand by our fair-but-firm policies.

Are you a traditional dog kennel?

Not in the old-school sense. Traditional dog kennels keep dogs in a run all day, with a couple of short potty breaks. We do dog boarding plus full-day doggy daycare, which means boarders join the daycare program for 6+ hours of supervised group play each day and only sleep in their kennel overnight. So we're a dog boarding kennel, but the experience is closer to a sleepover camp than a kennel.
